Angel Bright

Angel Bright is a craft that is like string art.  However, it is chenille stems.  Inserting and bending at the holes.  On the wings it is curved to look like wings.  It is a bit confusing, but follow the pattern.  Once the angel was done, I took the tinkle lights, and placed them around the angel with 2 lights together.

The picture frame I built out of a frame and tumbling blocks.  I used wood glue to secure the blocks to the frame. making a box frame.  Leaving the glass in I placed the Angel in place.  I built the back of the box frame with extra cardboard and left room for air flow.  Using the back of the original frame as the last piece of the box frame.

The stars  are placed where the tinkle lights are, glued to the glass on the outside.

Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows

A fun tier tray craft that will bring smiles to the cold winter season.  This is made by stretching felt, leaving no seams to be seeing.  Use a treat cup from the dollar tree and measure out a square that is just a bit large than the cup. Indent the center and with the cup.  Ok, now you can work out. by stretch pulling the fabric on all the corners of then go back and pull next to the corners. Continue this till the felt is laying nicely on the cup.  It will take time to stretch it.  I actually used the hammer to stretch it.  To watch how this is done your can see it

In this video you will also see how to make your marshmallow people, too.

My Cousin Its moved in.

My Cousin Its moved in today. Only being 2 1/2 feet tall; made it ruff for him to reach anything. And his straw hairy hair is dragging dust everywhere.

So I trimmed his straw hairy hairdo so he would not trip. And gave him a job of watching the Halloween Tree. Because we don’t want the witch to take it away.

So proud of his job he stood right there on guard, So everyone, beware !

Made with a pumpkin frame, Red Velvet Yarn and a few hours of work wrapping this Red Velvet Apple all up.

Q & A Crafting Time

Here are some Q & A  that can help you get to know your Coach Cathleen:

What is your favorite craft to craft?  and Why?

My favorite craft is to craft with all sorts of materials and make an amazing and useful project.  Like this Plant Eating picture above.  It was made with a  broken pumpkin and a stained pot.  I put them together, not know it would turnout to be a Plant Eating Centerpiece.  It was sure fun to make and is adorable.

What kind of scissors do you use?

I use many scissors, because not every material can be cut by one pair of scissors.  My go to scissor is really my dog grooming 7″  barber scissors.

what material do you like the best to work with?

I use so many materials.  Cardstock paper is an essential for crafting.  And if children  or Seniors are creating, I would suggest construction paper because it is easier to cut for them.  Hot Glue is also a material I use a lot of.  In fact I use it on just about every craft.

How would you start a beginner crafter to start crafting?

Oh what a fun question.  Lots of people start crafting and find out that getting things ready for a craft can take longer than the craft itself.  Because they are looking and thinking they need it  all to make a craft.  So not true.  Start out with simple projects, like modge podge a picture or favorite napkin on to a board,  it will make a lovely wall hang.   Another craft that is fun for all ages is to hammer flowers &  leaves onto a cardstock and make cards and envelopes with this fun method.  Crafting out side the box is the most rewarding and can be fun for every age.  Now lets get crafting!
